About *Setareh*
*Setareh* is a professional belly dancer with years of performing experience. She has appeared before diverse audiences at restaurants, festivals, parties, weddings, cultural celebrations, showcases, and corporate events throughout the Bay Area and beyond. *Setareh* is currently a featured dancer at Bijan Restaurant in Fremont and contributes frequently to shows with live music at Al Masri Egyptian Restaurant in San Francisco and El Morocco Restaurant in Pleasant Hill.
*Setareh* traces her dance roots to the American Cabaret belly dance tradition, and is proficient in many styles influencing the expression of this diverse dance art form in performance. She has won multiple awards but does not consider herself a competitive dancer—her emphasis is on building community and advancing quality in this beautifully diverse art form. Most recently, she has studied extensively with Egyptian master teachers including Mona al Said, Tito Seif, Shareen el Safy, and Randa Kamel. She is certified in the Randa Kamel technique. *Setareh* is the artistic director of the improvisational dance group Nour El Ain Dance Company. Bringing together a kaleidoscope of dancers representing different backgrounds and performance techniques, from budding stars to seasoned performers, this lively group is happy to bring high-energy performances events throughout California. New members are always welcome. *Setareh* is a founding member of Elyxr Danse Oriental Moderne and improvisational musical ensemble OvOom. *Setareh* is a designer/provider of innovative, high-quality belly dance costuming. |
